As I’m writing this, Mr. Zimmerman has finally been found not guilty. I always thought if George’s last name was Lopez instead Zimmerman, this whole thing wouldn’t get nearly as much national attention.
Which brings me to the question of race?
Just kidding, it’s never about race. It’s about the importance of stereotyping and the right of citizens to protect themselves. But moreso, it’s about the right of citizen(S) to protect their COMMUNITY which is why Damian Ross put together Citizen Support Initiative. Think of it as applying the principals and techniques from the Self Defense Training system on a communal level since we humans have proven that we are more effective at accomplishing just about anything when we learn to work together.
Now the idea of having a neighborhood watch has a bad rep of a bunch of gun-toting, paranoid, primitive type men who have nothing better to do other than worrying about protecting the caves of the tribe from an “unlikely” attack. And this rep isn’t getting any better as the mainstream liberal media continues to push this “citizens having guns equals evil” stance with fear mongering stories such as Zimmerman’s, and of course those pieces of sh#t that had committed the Aurora Batman and Sandy Hook Elementary shootings all while seemingly ignoring all the everyday cases of citizens protecting themselves, their loved ones, and their communities with guns since…
1) That doesn’t sell and get viewers.
2) It doesn’t make big brother government and its supporters (pretty much my entire generation, Generation V for Victims of Violence) very happy or feel very good.
I’m sure some of you are starting to like and buy into the fairy tale fantasy of a police state where the police are everywhere and are there to protect you from any and all harm? Wouldn’t that make life so much easier if you never had to play the role of sheepdog?
Well I hate to break it to you but that’s never going to happen. The “protect you from any and all harm” part, not the “police state” part, as my readers in the UK can attest to.
And as you can already tell, like anything that I do, this isn’t going to be the typical product review. I am going to shamelessly use the Zimmerman case as a means to illustrate what, so you as the reader, can better visualize and cement in your head what you CAN and CAN NOT gain by investing in Damian Ross’s course.
So, the actual CSI video is a live streaming one that you will get instant access to and you will be able to comment and interact using your facebook and other social media accounts to comment and ask questions and Damian and other instructors will be glad to answer to ensure that your understanding, training and application of the material is as smooth as possible. The Self Defense Co. actually gives a sh#t(unlike a bunch of other guys selling DVDs who will remain nameless, this time :)) whether or not you, the customer, actually “gets it” and is going to take action and receives a benefit from your purchase.
The video starts off by introducing the C.R.A.S.H. system of Control, Remove, Assess, Separate and Hold. In other words, you want to have MULTIPLE people doing multiple things so that a FIGHT is LESS likely to break out. This is a lot more socially acceptable as it has more of a “group feel” for all parties since 1 on 1 is by nature, confrontational. The fantasy that a lot of martial artists sell you is that you will be able to effectively subdue someone who is bigger, faster, and stronger than you all by yourself and even if he’s armed. I hope you realize, that’s complete and utter bullsh#t since how the hell would you know he’s armed and how would you know the necessary verbal and nonverbal skills to whether or not he’s actually a threat that necessitates you taking physical action.
For example, by having one guy talking to the suspect and another guy talking to both guys that appears to sympathize more with the suspect, it makes the suspect feel less threatened, as if you have a good cop, bad cop kind of dynamic going on instead of 1 guy “stalking” him like a predator stalks his prey. Specifically, instead of having 1 or more guys confronting the suspect square-on, 1 guy should be square but not get too close and distract the suspect verbally, so that his partner can position himself to the suspect’s side and get slightly behind the suspect, facing the 1st guy and seeing what the suspect sees and talk to all parties. The suspect will feel like the partner is on his side, since, he physically is.
Tactically, if Martin WERE to charge and attack Zimmerman(Guy 1), Guy 2 is in the perfect position to deliver a Hand Yoke from Module 2 straight into the back of the neck of Martin and use that to stun and control him so that Guy 1(Zimmerman) has the TIME and REACTIONARY GAP to be able to grab Martin’s hood on his hoodie and use that to deliver the Hockey takedown to snap Martin down on the ground, WITHOUT having the need to draw his gun(It just wouldn’t make sense to try to draw your gun at this range anyways since you should dropstep with gun-side back). Both men would than have Martin on his stomach, force him to present his hands, so that he can access no weapons, even if he had them, and to secure his legs with a Figure 4 Leg Lock. The two men could easily hold Martin down until the police arrived to “sort things out” and at the end of the day, nobody would have had to die or even get severely hurt and Martin would have the opportunity to rethink his life choices and maybe make a change for the better. And isn’t that what liberals want?
The reason I bring up Zimmerman is that perhaps the biggest takeaway was that had Zimmerman had a partner or 2, a couple of neighbors/friends with him at the time, he would have less likely to have been attacked by Martin in the first place. Even if you don’t believe that Martin was the first to attack, wouldn’t you feel that a “racist” individual would be less likely to be “trigger happy” if he knew that he and his partners COULD easily and effectively subdue Martin in an organized way that they had already TRAINED for IF and when Martin attacks and hold him down until the police showed up. Why?
That way they ALL wouldn’t have to go through all the legal HELL and media backlash that Zimmerman had faced/is facing because of Martin’s DEATH at the hands of a GUN. Face it, even if you don’t like Zimmerman, admit that his life will never be the same and times are going to be difficult for him since he shot and killed Martin. So whoever’s side you’re on, let me be clear, I’m saying that Zimmerman needed to be better trained and that “racist” community needed to have a more organized neighborhood watch AND Martin should have had the common sense to not present himself in his dress and text messages the way he did. It may not be illegal for you to be black, wear gang clothes and cruise in specific areas, BUT people don’t get arrested for what they wear, they get arrested for what they do. But if you wear something that is worn by people who do something and present yourself as the type of person engaged in/soon to be engaged in illegal and more illegal/criminal activity….you’re ASKING to be pulled over and for TROUBLE since you have the DETRIMENT of the DOUBT.
The takedowns and techniques shown in CSI emphasize the importance of TEAMWORK when subduing someone. Zimmerman should not have been in the position where Martin could punch him and keep punching him into the ground and pound. The fact that Zimmerman’s gun didn’t jam or misfire meant that Zimmerman was LUCKY that…
He didn’t get knocked unconscious and HIM being up the one that was killed.
It’s also irrelevant who attacks first, it matters who THREATENS who with VIOLENCE FIRST whether that be verbally OR physically. Martin could have very well been armed, in the dark, how would Zimmerman have known? Martin had a chance to escape, but he chose to ATTACK. Zimmerman had a chance to escape, but he chose to QUESTION, not attack Martin.
On the other hand, the “Right” and conceal-carry advocates have the problem of thinking that by simply strapping a gun, or pepper spray, or any other TOOL to your body makes you invincible. And while it’s certainly commendable and one step above the sheep that you at least gave this issue some thought, I think this cop would agree that without the UNARMED training that serves as a necessary bridge, it’s NOT ENOUGH.
This is why the partner takedowns and KNOWING WHEN to act is just as crucial as HOW to act if you’re going to be part of any neighborhood watch so things never have to escalate to the point where someone needs to die. I feel combined with the recent media attention, CSI is a great opportunity and way for you to reach out and to share with your neighbors who are all concerned about the safety of your community. Now, with CSI, you can turn that concern into a concrete ACTION. So here’s what you do step by step…
1) Purchase the program and get instant access, and just watch the training video as these simple but highly effective moves are seemingly “downloaded” into your mind ready for IMMEDIATE use if need be. No complicated wrist locks, or small joint manipulations like you see in A LOT of this type of training.
2) Reach out and get your neighbors to talk about and TRAIN in these techniques…you guys can approach this and turn this into a fun, social gathering amongst neighbors and friends…it doesn’t have to be “doom and gloom” neighborhood watch paranoia. If you want, you don’t even have to use that word since it does carry an awkward connotation especially if you’re the first one in your community to bring it up.
3) Just when you see a neighbor going about his everyday life, open him with and frame it as, “Hey man, so have you heard, it looks like Zimmerman’s not guilty… blah, blah, blah…anyway, I have some really cool martial arts moves that I learned from the same guys that train cops that I’d love to share with you, you wanna see? I think we should all know these moves as the responsible MEN of this community who have the BALLS to take care of business, but do so in a “HUMANE”(Liberals love that word, I find) and legally/socially acceptable manner.” You’d be surprised that regardless of their political ideology/opinions about this specific case, you can get just about anyone to at least be interested in training when you frame things in this manner especially if you’re funny and have good people skills. Pretty soon, more guys in your neighborhood are going to be curious about this and feel left out if they’re not invited to train as well.
4) And guess what, pretty soon it’s just a natural organic progression of you guys wanting to train to wanting to have “shifts,” in pairs or groups, as an excuse to “get away from the nagging wife” and mundane, tedious everyday chores and even loneliness for some and it becomes a great way to bond and get to know the people you live around. Science tells us that people grow closer and friendships are made through shared experiences and memories.
I know since especially in this day and age of the internet and computers, we forget to socialize and have the face-to-face interactions with our neighbors since we all somehow think we’re either “too cool” for that or don’t want to feel awkward. Well now, you have a cool, badass reason that is CSI to talk to your neighbors about a legitimate problem that you guys all face. You don’t want to be the guy who’s house is broken in to and to have neighbors that simply watch or maybe hear something and do nothing when they see someone suspicious hanging around your property. Likewise, you want to be on a first name basis with your neighbors where you can call them any time and let them know that they have your help in investigating something/someone suspicious. There needs to be less social awkwardness over this.
But, because YOU’RE the one reading this and NOT your neighbors, God, fate, destiny, or whatever you believe in meant it for YOU to be the one to acquire and utilize this information and the information found in Damian Ross’s Protector: Citizen Support Initiative.
